Beloved,

I’ll be honest. Over the last few weeks, in the midst of election turmoil, I have wondered if this was a good plan to move forward with our Stewardship Campaign for 2025. But I come back again and again to the deep knowledge that communities like ours are so deeply needed in this very moment in our country.

I don’t know what chaos and discrimination will be coming from our federal government, but we are working to connect with others and prepare for it. I know we will find the way forward together.

What can we do at times like this?  We can invest in community.  We can support communities that are actively engaging in the work of justice, kindness, and compassion.  We can find allies, create networks, and commit ourselves to be part of the greater work of resistance to violence, oppression, and discrimination.

HopeGateWay will be faithful to this work. We will need everyone to step up in all the ways that we can to sustain our work. We aren’t just about paying the bills and paying the staff, though those things are necessary for the work. We are about creating space for peacemaking.  We are about seeking a better world even when it’s hard to imagine. We will do that together — but we need your financial support.
