Our Facility

Just a mile from bustling downtown Portland and a few blocks from Woodfords Corner — diagonally across the street from The Great Lost Bear, in one direction, and The Proper Cup in the other — two local hangouts — HopeGateWay is located on the first floor of a multi-use space at 509 Forest Avenue (Portland, Maine) surrounded by retail establishments, restaurants, dance studios, and offices on Forest Avenue, adjacent to many residential side streets and one block from the Back Cove.

Our space includes a welcoming lobby area;  a large gathering room that holds about 100 people seated in chairs, about 75 or 80 around tables, or several hundred standing;  a serving kitchen (with refrigerator, microwave, commercial dishwasher, and plenty of dishes for serving, but no cooking facilities);  a nursery and three small meeting rooms;  and all-gender restrooms.

Street parking is generally available on Forest Avenue and nearby side streets. We have access to an underground parking garage  with ample parking, weeknights after 5 pm and weekends. A large satellite parking lot is available at 41 Ashmont Street, behind the Social Security building, about three blocks from HopeGateWay.

Although much of the facility is occupied in the evenings, space is available for rental for nonprofit use on weekdays and some weekend times. Contact us to learn more about availability and rates.
