What's Going On

immigrant support

Every day we meet friends new to Portland, to Maine, and to the United States. Inspired by their deep hope and commitment to beginning a new life here, and in order to be more intentional about our hospitality, we have formed a separate 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Hope Acts, which provides transitional housing; coordinates a clinic offering legal assistance for those applying for asylum; offers assistance in learning English; and organizes and leads educational and cultural events to raise awareness, strengthen relationships, invite support, and celebrate the culture of people from around the world.

If you are new to this part of the world, we hope that through HopeGateWay and Hope Acts you will feel the warm embrace of hospitality, hope, and healing.
